Contribute

Interested in contributing to GenAI: AI at Geneseo? Academic faculty, professional faculty, and students at SUNY Geneseo are all welcome to contribute content.

Here’s how:

  • Start by registering an account at Geneseo OpenLab.
  • Once registered and logged in, visit the home page for the project AI at Geneseo.
  • Under the project’s avatar of a knight, click the button to request membership.
  • Once your membership is approved, you’ll be able to access the discussion forum for the project and will have “Contributor” status on this website, enabling you to submit content for approval.
  • You can compose your post right here on the site. Go to the Dashboard, select “New Post,” and start writing. If you’re new to WordPress, you may want to have a look at the documentation for the WordPress block editor. You can save a draft, leave, and come back to continue editing as many times as you like. You can also preview your draft in a separate window or tab. When you’re ready to submit your post for review, click “Submit.”
  • Alternatively, you can draft your post in a Word file, a Google doc, or in plain text using Markdown, then share the file with cdl[at]geneseo.edu. (You’ll still need to create an account so that you can appear as author of your posted content.)

What kind of content can you submit? We’re interested in:

  • Posts describing AI resources that may be of value to the SUNY Geneseo community.
  • Posts offering thoughtful, well-reasoned perspectives on AI’s current or future role in research, pedagogy, or liberal education generally.
  • Posts offering thoughtful, well-reasoned perspectives on the social context and impact of AI.
  • Posts describing faculty or student engagements with AI in the classroom: e.g., assignment prompts, completed assignments, and other experiences using AI in an educational setting.

What to expect when you contribute:

  • After you submit your post, it will be reviewed for clarity, continuity, logic, relevance to the site’s purpose, handling of facts and evidence, and adherence to the OpenLab community guidelines.
  • Your post may be lightly edited to improve any or all of the above.
  • If your post requires significant revision, you may be asked to revise and resubmit it.
  • A “featured image” will be selected to accompany your post.
  • Once an editor approves your post, it will appear on the site.
