AI and Academic Integrity

“AI and Academic Integrity” is a short module that introduces students to important concepts regarding the use of AI and academic integrity. Concepts covered include a brief overview of generative AI, whether or not its use is considered plagiarism, how to use generative AI tools responsibly, and potential use cases. The module ends with a multi-select quiz where students can apply concepts learned to three scenarios, which can also be used to spark discussion for a more active, collaborative experience. The module exists as part of Milne Library’s Plagiarism Tutorial, but can be used as a stand-alone lesson about when it is and is not appropriate to use generative AI in academic assignments.
